Leaving CSI: Miami

Journal Entry: Fri May 16, 2008, 2:33 PM

Yeah...I'm leaving.

I've just ended my current season on CSI: Miami and I will be leaving the show to explore other avenues of work. I have been incredibly fortunate to work with the Art Department and other departments of CSI: Miami because of the great people that are on the show...and it's the best run television show in Hollywood.

I'm moving to an Ice Cube film called 'The Janky Promoters' and will be doing a lot of the artwork and photography as the graphic designer of the film. It looks like it is going to be a lot of fun...and maybe I'll get to meet Ice Cube. Maybe not but that would be a nice bonus.

It's going to be a short project. 4-5 weeks, or maybe even more weeks as the budget allows.

But now I'm doing the things that I wanna do.
I ain't got a thing to prove to you.
I eat my candy with my pork and beans.
Excuse my manners if that seems obscene.

Cheers from Hollywoodland,
Ryan

spread the dA love around...random deviation | random deviant

Dear deviantART,

Journal Entry: Fri May 2, 2008, 2:18 PM
I have recently been becoming concerned with a growing demographic on deviantART. "Fanboys".

The demographic of this website that cries that they are giving their opinion when they are down right insulting to other deviants on this site and they don't have the talent/skill to back up their insults.

They are no talent 12-20 year old anime loving boys who wish that they could get a woman naked let alone, photograph one...and they are just jealous of that one aspect of the photograph/artwork. Not the lens choice, lighting, composition, contrast, etc..

They wish they were popular on this site and find that taking their anger out on skilled talented artists and photographers is a way to get pageviews or interact with people on this site...well, they get pageviews and interact with other deviants but not in a constructive or positive way.

Whether they insult deviants like cweeks with comments on a deviation like, "Paris is a Whore" or pelicanh with "More Playboy crap! SHIT AIN'T ART!" or have other comments where they disrespect the subjects of the deviation with "nice tits", or "she's ugly" and so forth.

The inevitable does happen. Deviants talk back to these no talent anime loving "fanboy" hacks. Then the "fanboy" hacks accuse the deviants of ass-kissing, being perverts, calling them idiots and the insults continue. My favorite is their fervent gay-bashing on perfectly heterosexual people. Somehow they find it an insult when all they really need is to come out of the closet. These "fanboy" hacks don't know what art is but claim that they alone decide what it is and can insult anything and give their "opinion (insult)".

These "fanboys" are immature little shits that could care less about art and more about "owning" people with lame, awful, hateful comments because they need attention...and pageviews. Perhaps, mommy didn't love them enough. Which is not why this site was created.

It was created to openly share, discuss, critique and promote art from the beginner to full blown professionals in every media. Not to spew venomous insults.

The MySpaciation of deviantART is happening. It's been a long time coming. I wish it would stop.

For the "fanboys"...before you move out of your mother's basement...here's the defintion of art:

ART / Pronunciation Key - Spelled Pronunciation [ahrt]

5. any field using the skills or techniques of art: advertising art; industrial art.

6. (in printed matter) illustrative or decorative material: Is there any art with the copy for this story?

7. the principles or methods governing any craft or branch of learning: the art of baking; the art of selling.

8. the craft or trade using these principles or methods.

9. skill in conducting any human activity: a master at the art of conversation.

10. a branch of learning or university study, esp. one of the fine arts or the humanities, as music, philosophy, or
literature.

11. arts, a. (used with a singular verb) the humanities: a college of arts and sciences.
b. (used with a plural verb) liberal arts.

12. skilled workmanship, execution, or agency, as distinguished from nature.

Bitch Slap Guillermo Vargas Habacuc!

Journal Entry: Tue Apr 29, 2008, 11:34 AM
CWeeks has given me information that will be much more effective than a petition to Boycott the wannabe Jeffrey Dahmer...Guillermo Vargas Habacuc.

He has provided me with the name, address, phone numbers and email of the museum that he will be at.

Everyone that reads this must act and spam email the museum until they cancel the event and the animal killer that calls himself and artist will be boycotted. Tying a street dog to a rope and starving the poor defenseless creature to death for exhibition is disgusting, evil, and he plans to do it again.

Below is where you can contact the museum to protest Guillermo Vargas Habacuc.

MARTE
Colonia San Benito
Final Ave. La Revolución
San Salvador, El Salvador

Tel.: (503)2243-6099
Fax: (503)2243-1726
info@marte.org.sv

We need to send an avalanche of emails to get them to listen and stop another animal from dying. If you think it'll help re-post this journal in yours and get the word out for people to act. Now. Below is an email that CWeeks wrote and you can use this as a form letter to send.

Good evening.

I have been advised that your museum has invited the artist Guillermo
Vargas Habacuc to exhibit at the Visual Arts Biennial of the Central
America held at your museum.

Your organization supports cruelty to animals? I would never think an
organization as respected as yours would ever do that.

Please tell me exactly how your curator sees art in the slow painful
death of a living animal.

I would love to know.

Yours truly,
Chris Weeks

Boycott the presence of Guillermo Vargas Habacuc!

Journal Entry: Fri Apr 25, 2008, 10:58 AM
In 2007, the 'artist' Guillermo Vargas Habacuc, took a dog from the street, tied him to a rope in an art gallery, and starved him to death.

For several days, the 'artist' and the visitors of the exhibition have watched emotionless the shameful 'masterpiece' based on the dog's agony, until eventually he died.

Does it look like art to you?

But this is not all... the prestigious Visual Arts Biennial of the Central American decided that the 'installation' was actually art, so that Guillermo Vargas Habacuc has been invited to repeat his cruel action for the biennial of 2008.

PLEASE HELP STOP HIM.

Petition Online Now

It's free of charge, there is no need to register, and it will only take 1 minute to save the life of an innocent creature.

Thank you for your time,
Ryan

Dear Fellow World Planners,

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 21, 2008, 5:41 PM
First, the BAD NEWS!
The vehicle we've been promoting to redistribute the wealth and power into our hands is not working: The people are starting to understand that Socialism doesn't work!

Now the GOOD NEWS!
We may be able to accomplish the same goal with a new idea called 'Global Enviromentalism'!

cheers from make believe miami, ;)
